Power of attorneys

POWER OF ATTORNEYS:

If you are outside of Argentina and need to execute a power of attorney to be presented before argentine authorities, you may request a Power of Attorney at your nearest consular offices. 
However, if unable to appear in person at the Consulate, you may sign your Power of Attorney before a Notary Public and finalize the process by requesting an Apostille at the Offices of the Secretary of State of the State where Notary is from.-
Once the Apostille has been affixed, you may send your document directly to Argentina.-

The Consulate may also:
-Extend, register, rectify, revoke, renew and substitute Power of Attorneys.
-Extend deeds about Contracts
-Declarations of Parental Recognition
-Declaration of willingness to Argentine Nationality  and issuance of Power of Attorneys to that effect.
-Record of civil and commercial verifications, and registration of those presented to that effect.-
-Receive and register declarations, protests and counter protests formulated by Ship Captains and argentine citizens, in protecting the interests or responsibilities own and others.
-Registration of a handwritten testament, extend and register the testament for public acts, and register those drawn up in another manner.-
-To bestow in general all other acts specified in the legal requirements that regulate the Notary’s Powers.-
General Requirements are as follows:
-Advance via email  a draft of the Power of Attorney (request the text to the  Lawyer or Notary Public in Argentina)
-Copy of the argentine National Identity Document (DNI) or copy of the passport.-
-Provide a Cover Letter with all personal information, including a day time telephone to be able to set a personal appointment, etc.-

Once the draft copy of the power of attorney is prepared, an official from the Consulate office will contact you to schedule a day and time to sign the document and will inform you of the total cost of the proceeding.
This procedure must be done in person, since the interested party must sign the power at the Consulate office. The principal must bring his or her DNI and/or passport (original).
Expedite fee is: $40.00 per document.-
