The Bio International Convention is the largest biotech event in the world and it takes place every year in different cities of the United States.
The 2013's edition will be held in Chicago at the McCormick Place Convention Center from April 22nd to April 25th, 2013. It is expected more than 16,000 professionals, 2,000 companies, and government representatives from more than 65 countries to atend to the upcoming edition of the Bio International Convention.
The exhibition brings together more than 2,000 large, small and medium companies that developt products and researchs on biotechnology, nanotechnology, genetics and biofuels, among other fields. During the event companies exhibit their products and seek to reach strategic partnerships with other companies from all arround the world.
Argentina has participated in all the editions of the Bio International Convention since 2006. The Argentine Pavillion is co-organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Science, Technology and Productive Innovation.
At present many companies are engaged in developing biotechnological products and processes in Argentina. The commercial application of biotechnology in countries like Argentina is a powerful technological tool with the capacity to revolutionize agriculture, health care, and industrial processes, as well as in the sustainable care and environmental rehabilitation. According to existing databases, national companies engage in a wide range of activities, from the use of biotechnological supplies in production processes, to the manufacture of modern biotechnology products through recombinant DNA techniques.
It is expected more than 30 Argentine companies exhibiting at the Argentine National Pavillion in the Bio International Convention 2013.
