On September 20, the Consul General Atilio Berardi accompanied by Consulate officials held a working meeting with the Governor of Missouri, Jay Nixon.
Mr. Nixon, member of the Democratic Party, was elected in 2008 and reelected in 2012 and is the 55 Governor of Missouri.
During the meeting, the Governor stressed his willingness in signing agreements between the State of Missouri and Argentine provinces.
He also referred to the exchange on agricultural issues such as soil conservation and irrigation, fields in which Missouri is a recognized international leader.
The Consul General provided a comprehensive overview of the Argentine economic situation, pointing out the favorable conditions for attracting foreign investments.
He also pledged to provide his support in arranging both business and institutional meetings and identifying Argentine provinces and cities for the potential signing of agreements with the State of Missouri.
