Apostilla de La Haya

La Apostilla de La Haya es la certificación que autentica un documento público conforme al Convenio de La Haya, (5 de octubre 1961, Ley Nacional 23.458/86) eliminando la necesidad de una legalización consular adicional.

Argentina y Estados Unidos son Estados parte de este Convenio. Por lo tanto, cuando un documento cuenta con su Apostilla, el Consulado no interviene ni realiza legalizaciones adicionales.

Los documentos públicos emitidos en Estados Unidos - como partidas de nacimiento, matrimonio, defunción, sentencias de divorcio, diplomas, certificados analíticos, entre otros - deben ser apostillados por la Secretaría de Estado del Estado correspondiente dentro de los Estados Unidos.

Una vez apostillado, el documento no requiere ser enviado al Consulado para su validación o intervención.

La República Argentina reconoce la validez de los documentos apostillados, excepto aquellos que deban ser presentados ante Aduanas o utilizados en operaciones comerciales, los cuales requieren un procedimiento específico diferente.
